Rodrigues, Vitor Jose F. (POR)Mind-killing fear, mind-resurrecting love

Resume:

“fear is the mind killer”, said one Bene Gesserit priestess to Paul Atreides, the future Messiah in the Dune cult movie from David Lynch. Fear is indeed a mind killer, a consciousness closer belonging in the same family as hatred. It is also connected to desire, attachment and consciousness identifications with restricted human personalities. At the opposite side, love helps open the mind, revitalise it and free consciousness from attachment. This will be the scenario of this talk, tracking fear to its self-conscious origin with its social implications and searching for courage, love and consciousness opening and expansion as the way for a better humankind.
