Biography:
Born at Taibeh, Israel, in 1941. Israeli citizen since 1948. Studies at the University of Freiburg (psychology, sociology, criminology). Free-lance collaborator at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, Department of Criminology. Lectureships at the Catholic and the Protestant Colleges of Social Studies. Psychoanalytical training. Director of the Girls’ Home for Psychotherapy of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (Workers’ Welfare Association) in Seelbach and Lahr.
Psychoanalyst in private practice since 1976. Since 1999 lecturer and supervisor at the Psychoanalytical Seminar Freiburg (DPV), since 2000 lecturer and supervisor in the Department of Psychosomatics of the Freiburg University Medical School (training of psychological psychotherapists) and teaching therapist.
Active in the peace movement for the past thirty years. Co-founder, fifteen years ago, of the Jewish-Palestinian Focus Group in Basel/Freiburg. Chairman of the Arabian-German Cultural Association, Freiburg. In the last thirty years, he has given many lectures in Germany and abroad on political and psychoanalytical topics. He has specialized in the treatment of trauma patients and traumatized torture victims.
